About this workshop
This workshop will provide a unique perspective of the therapeutic process including keys to recovery along with insights, strategies and exploration of resistance from the perspective of both therapist and patient. Topics include motivation, strengthening the healthy self, feeling one's feelings, and exploring "conscious eating," as ways of helping clients incorporate structure, nutrition education and intuitive awareness in order to make peace with food and one's body. Participants will learn about specific tools, exercises and ideas that have been used successfully to help clients explore deeper relationships with themselves, others, and the world around them. Participants will gain an understanding of not just what clients are recovering from, but what they are recovering to. Ms. Costin has planned time for your questions and invites you to bring cases to discuss. Participants will be able to identify at least one way in which mindfulness practice is beneficial to eating disorder recovery. Participants will be able to describe one guideline of conscious eating. Participants will be able to identify at least one assignment for assisting clients in their recovery.
